Yes it’s pink, and yes, it’s glorious.
Ever heard of a liqueur called NUVO ?
How about Ciroc? That really expensive top shelf vodka? Yea, that stuff. Made by the same folks over there in France. NUVO is a blend of premium triple distilled French vodka infused with French sparkling wine and natural fruit nectar. It’s predominant fruit flavor is raspberry – though incredibly light, and it comes in a fancy bottle with a pink lid. You can’t miss it it’s about the pinkest thing in the liquor isle.
Anywho, I just happened to have some in my fridge and was thinking that maybe drinking it by itself was a little wasteful, so I came up with this cute little drink. I call it the Pink Citrus Squeeze. My original intent for this post was to look up a recipe by NUVO themselves and create one of those, but upon investigation of their website, their drink ideas were a little flat. Most of them calling for you to mix it with different flavored vodkas. I was a little off put by that but I tried it anyway…BLECH. Mixing something that tastes a lot like vodka with – what? more vodka! You can imagine that doesn’t make for a very tasteful drink. So I squeezed some lime juice into the mix, and added a little grenadine. It really brought out the flavor of the Nuvo. Incredibly refreshing and whats even better about it is that it’s pink. Add yourself a little umbrella and you got yourself a little pink paradise.
Pink Citrus Squeeze
2oz Nuvo Sparkling Liqueur
1oz Vodka (Raspberry flavor is best)
Juice of one freshly squeezed lime wedge
Splash of Grenadine
Pour Nuvo and Vodka into a rocks glass filled with ice. Squeeze lime wedge and drop it in the drink. Splash some grenadine on top and you’ve got yourself a very pink and tasty drink.
